Here we are at the Pacific Ocean, energized and ready to start the adventure...thanks to John and Janet Gifford getting us off on the right foot. Nicky Carubia and Greg Charlebois came bright and early to support the anxious riders. 69 miles to Stevens Pass - all up hill, of course.
Here is Dick allowing his parents to feel the cool ocean water. They are joining us for the ride cross country.
The sag wagon, driven by Scot Auld, was outfitted with every thing the team would need. Robert and Carol Rose at White Horse Trailers also gave us the red carpet treatment getting the trailer itself set up and ready to roll.
The grind up Stevens Pass...
Bill and Dick managing a smile at the final push.
Stage one COMPLETE!!!
Chris Rudolph and Tom Mayor - our personal nutritionist and marketing team at Stevens Pass. Stevens Pass hooked us up with a warm place to sleep, a wicked awsome dinner:) -, and stories into the night. Nothing but good hearts in these guys. The riders crashed early and dreamt of a long, 35 mile descent into Leavenworth.
